Kazakhstan

Information for Patients
Healthcare in Kazakhstan is divided between the public and private sector. Within the public sector are a plethora of various networks which manage the primary, secondary and tertiary care within various regions throughout the country. Despite the variance, these are all owned and managed by the Kazakh Ministry of Health. Kazakhstan’s Healthcare system is still a replica of the service care that was conducted during the soviet era, albeit with certain reforms. Healthcare insurance is predominately provided by the Ministry of Health and is available to all Kazakh citizens and legal residents. The Private sector tends to be of higher quality and provides better service than the overcrowded and porous public sector system, albeit it is of higher cost.
